An Apology!

I want to take this moment on my website to apologize.
I'm really really, very sorry.
To my loyal readers, people passing by, to my co-workers, my family, my kitties and once again ALL my ex-girlfriends. I am truly very sorry.
When I wrote to other blogs I spoke the truth, and anyone who says something else or is writing a book on it, is delusional.
So once again let me say just how sorry I am, and that someday and I will actually be able to tell you why!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Jason Giambi, I was having a bad day yesterday, and if this whole situation wasn't so very, very, very, VERY sad, I would laugh my ____ off! Like I said yesterday with the Readers Digest article, unless you really have something to say or something to get off you chest, don't bother! I've got plenty of things to worry about. Like what kind of sports I might watch this weekend, Auto racing is back with the Bud Shootout(nah, kind of like Pre-Season Football), The Pebble Beach Golf Tournament(maybe if it's in Hi Def, and once again need a nap), Plenty of College Basketball(Not unless I really have to, and there's nothing on the Food Network, although I might check on the Wisconsin/Illinois game), College Hockey!(maybe because it's the only Hockey there is, and it's between the two places I've lived in the last two years(Wisconsin/Denver)),WAIT the NFL isn't over yet, there's the Pro Bowl(yick, Preseason Football is better! Arena Football is better!)! Plus a million other things I need to do. So don't waste my time, with maybe, or I can't tell you right now.
Thank you,
Have a fabulous weekend,
until next time,

Just Babbling!
Just a couple thoughts for today that hopefully won't turn into a full fledged rant. I'm a little antsy, I feel like I could write a novel right now, and I have plenty of energy, since I've had two diet Rockstars!! However when I start typing my thoughts get cluttered, well think of this way. Picture a funnel, and at the top are all my thoughts, but what's coming out is a single slow little stream. But I'm plugging away!
Okay,
I got a email from my brother the other day after he read my last post on Truth and where is it, and how when someone says one thing, right there is someone that says something else or that their wrong. So my smart alec brother after reading what I said, said - YOUR WRONG!!!
And by the way the way the hits just keep on coming. First someone says Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb was puking, and couldn't call plays during the last drive in the Super Bowl, and like clockwork, he comes right back and says "Liar, Liar Pants on Fire!".

I know her link is on the sidebar, but I need to give a shout out to a nice blog As the Law Books Close, which would be a good title for a Soap Opera(my title would be "As The Blood Flows").
First my website is on her sidebar as a "must read", and that's very nice(thank you!), but she wrote a very good post about what she is going to do for Valentines Day, which kind of goes with some things I wrote on the mighty subject of "Love".
Which you can review HERE!
She has a very healthy attitude about spending it with herself(which she could be crying uncontrollably and eating a half gallon of Cookies N' Cream Ice Cream while writing it!).

This struck me while reading the new Readers Digest on a possible new clue, by using digital technology that may prove a shooter at the grassy knoll in the JFK murder.
Hmmmm, here's a thought. How about use the technology, test it out, make a conclusion, and then tell me if it worked or not!
Just a thought,

That's all I have today,
Have wonderful day,
Until next time,

The Truth!!! It's Out There Somewhere!

It's inevitable isn't it. One person says one thing, another is right there to say "No, it isn't." They will go on & on, and others will get on board for one side or the other and make their case, and hopefully some common ground is met and life goes on. But there's someone that asks "Well, which is it?", and nobody knows for sure, that's when such phrases as "Well, it's somewhere in the middle" come into existence. Is that good enough though? Was one right? Was one wrong? Were they both a little right? And what doesn't get noticed enough in my opinion is Were they both wrong?
That's the common practice I've noticed in both houses of the U.S. Congress, and somewhat in other countries as well. I weekly watch the Prime Ministers questions from the U.K., it's informative and very entertaining(I used to watch the Canadian one as well, it just wasn't as entertaining). I'm waiting for the day when Prime Minister Tony Blair answers one of Michael Howard's(the leader of the opposition party)questions by replying "Michael, you ingnorant slut!" It gets pretty dicey sometimes, but being British it remains mostly civil. I'm not taking sides but there is something to what Mr. Howard says every week when is he asks a question, Mr. Blair goes right into rhetoric, and how his government has created two million jobs since they have been in office and so on and so forth, which Mr. Howard always replies "Once again, he hasn't answered the question!". This goes on and on, and the observer(being me in this case) is forced to ask or ponder, "Which is it?". Just because one asks a question, and doesn't get a firm answer, has he successfully relayed an alternative that 1. Makes sense, and 2. has somehow proved the other side wrong!
This thought process came to me this morning when I was looking at the funny papers, and on the news that former baseball player Jose Canseco will reveal in his new book that not only did he take steroids but helped others take them, and witnessed others take them, and he names names. Which immediately drew quotes from some players and their former manager to say it's a bunch of rubbish and it's not true. So which is it? Can it all be lies? I actually give Canseco a little credit for completing it, he said about three years ago he was going to write the book and name names, and wasn't taken very seriously, especially when he stated that about 80% of players were on steroids. However when test results were revealed by the league it was more like 7%. But is that the truth?
I recently read "The Da Vinci Code", and within a work of fiction it stated a number of things about Jesus, and some people got upset. But these things weren't true were they? It's just fiction isn't it? Or is it? Or was the truth layered around a fictional story to make it more understandable? And now there are books for both sides of the debate. So, which is it? Do we really want to know? Can we accept such a truth and still have faith? We used to believe the Sun revolved around us, why was it so hard to accept that. Doesn't look any different to us does it, and think of what we learned from that, and our place in the universe.
Are we so entrenched in belief or faith in one side or another that we cannot accept what maybe true!
To me, I don't need the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but I don't want to be completely lied to, in order to join or choose a side, and if I have a question try to give me an honest answer, and not I can't answer that because it goes against my faith. And to my religous friends please do a little better job of answering some questions than by answering "I may be wrong, but what if I'm right!".
I saw that twice from the TV services yesterday, plus I've heard it before.
We can all do better, and this truth is out there somewhere.
But are we really looking for it, and will we accept it if we find it? Will we do it together, or keep taking sides!
How about that for a Monday!
Hope you a had great weekend and cograts to the Patriots! They are best team (aren't they?)!
That's all I have today,
Until next time,

It's a Tragedy!

The grogginess of waking up this morning was shaken off by my favorite sin of ESPN when the anchor announced that New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady suffered a "personal tragedy" with the death of his grandmother at age 94! I repeat AGE 94!!!
Folks that's an accomplishment, not a tragedy! Sure it's a bummer, and there's a time of reflection, and grief, but I'm sure Tom will be okay. But how does the Mighty ESPN and other reporters share his grief, by shoving a bunch of microphones in his face and demanding a comment. Hello, what do think he's going to say. The only reason I can think of people wanting to know this, is if he went out on a limb and went nuts and said, "It's about time the old bag went, my mother has been waiting for her inheritance for years, now I can count the days until she goes!"
No, that's not going to happen so leave it alone. My disdain of this kind of reporting goes back to when John Lennon was killed, and somebody found Paul McCartney and asked him how he fealt. Paul looked at him, and you can tell he's holding it all in, and said "Yeah, it's kind of a bummer isn't it!" Now looking at the words it sounds kind of vain, but Paul looked at the reporter and saying with his expression, "How could this Mother$%&*# ask me this right now!" That was a tragedy, here's another one, A Rural Wisconsin man kills his wife, very young daughter and teenage step-son, because GOD asked him to bring his family to heaven! Once again forgetting about the loosely translated fifth commandment of "Thou Shall Not Kill", and also I think someone famous said "Thou Shall Not Be Lead Into Temptation", and I'm only assuming that includes God. I maybe going to extremes but ESPN should choose their words a little more carefully when trying to fill in the blanks and make a story while we're still waiting for this "Game" to start.

Life is SO GOOD!
Now that we have the tragedy out of the way, we should not forget that by and large life is pretty good, and the State in which I presently live is pretty good too.
The State of Wisconsin announced it's new slogan to attract those poor pitiful souls of State's like -- Illinois(thanks for raising the price of those TOLLS!)!
Wisconsin --- Life's So Good!
It's not the best (Escape to Wisconsin is still the best), but it's not bad either.
But there's too many people who think life sucks, and they only way they can express their "freedom" is by complaining, which is a simplifcation, because what their really doing is b#$%ing, moaning, and whining! And they think it should be changed.
Wisconsin is a good state, and if you need a reminder that life IS pretty good overall, this is a good place to visit, so you can experience that reminder. (I will be expecting a greater return on my State tax return for the plug!).

Well folks have a good weekend enjoying the good life, and all the best if you are experiencing a tragedy! Enjoy the game Sunday! And when I return Monday, I will be a year older, and after the some of the events of this week, I hopefully will be a littler wiser as well.
Until next time,

Always Look On the Bright Side of Life!

With my birthday coming my best friend was taking me, and another friend of mine who also has a birthday coming up to the Wisconsin Badger Basketball game. Along for the ride also was one of my best friend's clients. I get done with work early and head over to TGI Fridays to meet them. I'm looking forward to a good time, and on the way my best friend gives me a call and let's me know about the customer, that he's a really cool guy, but really doesn't need to know our whole sorted past. Typical stuff from him , but a good point.

Well I get there, his client recognizes me, and it turns out to be my ex-girlfriends brothers brother in law. We have a good laugh at what a small world it is, and as the Long Island Ice Tea's keep coming, the night spirals downhill and he hears all of our horrid stories, and he tells the story of what really happened at a family wedding we were both at a year ago.
Anyway the Long Islands keep coming and it's getting close to game time. I must point out I didn't want Long Island's because at some point they give me a sour stomach, but my best friend was picking up the tab, I followed the rules.

Anyway, we head over to the Kohl Center, and we're laughing, honking the horn at other cars and acting "really" mature. We make it there, and just as we get there, I can't make it any further, it hits me, and hilarity ensues. It's really not worth reporting what happens next, and whatever you hear, it's probably true. Let's just put it this way, when I left the office I was wearing a nice button down shirt, with my Hillfinger pants, and came home with Bucky Badger boxer shorts, Wisconsin Pajama Bottoms and a nice Wisconsin T-shirt!
I only caught five minutes of the game, my first reaction was to runaway, call a cab and never face another soul as long as I live. But my best called on my cell phone, and when I got there they acted as a shield, and I got my senses back and everything was fine. Later on they toasted me at a bar(for water & food!) next to the stadium for hanging in there, but I provided another story to add to our legacy!
Just another sign that as I get another year older it's getting time to grow up!
Now I must point out I don't condone such behavior, the only point I'm trying to make is that humility can be a wonderful thing. It's not the end of the world, and if you have good friends, you can overcome lapses in judgment, and actually make someone's life. "Did I ever tell you about what happened to Pete at the Badger game!"
I just wanted to come "clean" with the story.
Have a Wonderful day, and stay away from TGIF Long Island Ice Teas!
Until Next Time,

Outdoors--OUT!
The big news here in Madison, a certain sports network, I won't mention their name but their intials are E S P N will not be back in town this year for their Outdoor games.
BUMMER!
I guess I will just go back to doing just about anything else!!!!!
I'm not bragging but ESPN has more to lose than Madison, they can go back to Lake Placid, NY or Reno, NV or find a new place, all they're going to do is spend four days in a city and edit the heck out of it, and show it for an hour over five days!
In the end nobody really cares, give me Sportscenter, and then give it to me for ten hours straight.
I went to the games one day last year, and it was fine, had some fun, watched some cute young girls log roll as they had Sponsor Me! on their butt, and that's nice. But I probably wouldn't of gone if there was admission, and I don't like how ESPN is trying to make it out like it's Madison's fault for them not returning. We'll get over it, come to think it, I just did,
Moving ON,

Weekend in "Review" & Comments!
Thanks to all for you comments over the weekend, I made it through without football for the most part, I did have some Arena football on in the background.
I also this weekend read the whole "The DaVinci Code"! (***1/2)
I'm probably a year too late to give a full review, and Pat Buchanan on McGlaughlin Group listed it as his "Lie of the Year" because it "probably damaged the faith of an awful lot of people. And I think it's by and large a big fraud, but it's a gigantic best-seller."
I don't why I've been leaving my deeper thoughts on other peoples blog, and not on my own, but here I go again.
I will say this about the book:
The answers we seek, are easier than the questions asked.
If your faith is hedging on some sort of "truth", you get that.
If your faith is sound, and you just want to see what kind of rubbish someone is writing. Your faith should be restored by the end, as long as you don't kill anyone over it.
If there is something you truly seek in life, your end isn't very far from your begining.
And finally if you need a good book to read on a weekend with no football you get that too!

One other thing from this weekend for all you who can't wait for Lime Coke. I tried the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper (**).
A little disappointed, it tasted like the Old Diet Dr. Pepper that came in the blue can or bottle.(By the way if anyone has a photo of the old Diet Dr. Pepper could you email me, I couldn't fine one on google!)
I know the approach for Diet Dr. Pepper is to taste like the original, but I don't think this what they had in mind for this product. Oh well, Lime Coke is on the way to save the day!

That's all I have today,
Until Next time,

Happy Friday!
Yes the weekend is here, and NO FOOTBALL!!!! What to do! Well there is Arena Football(possibly), NCAA Basketball(not unless I really have to), Ah, GOLF!(maybe if I'm hung over and need a nap), How about the Senior Bowl(nah, If I want football that doesn't mean anything, I'll stick with the Arena football), There's Boxing(yeah but, a NBA game may breakout). Well what's a guy to do, can't clean the house, wait, here it is . The 4th round of the FA Cup!!! Yes that's right English Football(notice I didn't call it Soccer). A whole weekend of competition, and as a matter of fact I may get a six pack of Guinness("Brilliant") for the occasion. Yes I know the first game starts at 6am, what's your point! So if your in a sports quandry this weekend and you get Fox Sports World, give it a shot! Unless you just can't wait for Sunday's PBA(That's Bowling folks) Birmingham Open!
But somebody from England has to tell me, what would you rather have The FA Cup or win the Premier League Title? Or just take any cup they throw at you!

Comments!
Thanks to all who sent in comments this week, especially those who tried to decipher the speech to text. Thanks to Ms. Ralph who thought my kitties were "beautiful", and they are, when they're not begging for food, or yelping in the middle of the night.
But the comment of the week goes to Libby for the nice comment about how refreshing it was to hear a "guy" say how communication is important in the whole love thing!
Just remember self-communication is equally important, about the things you want in love, life, and beyond! Because remember the person you deal with the most is----YOU!

Folks have a great weekend!

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm loving the blogging thing, and even commenting on other blogs, on such topics as life, death, religion, freedoms, and civil liberties. Most of the conversations are great, some comical, and just how many people out there are glass half empty and use their forum to b&%$h or go so far into the forest until they can't see the trees. But since I'm on the look at the other side type of guy with the loss of civil liberties, freedom or religion, I came across this story in the funny papers, on how Orthodox Jews are not allowed to sing in the shower!
Click Here for Full Story! (opens in new window)

WHAT?!?!?!?! Part II

Thanks to all who tried to decipher in my failed attempt to use a speech to text program. The good news is I'm thinking of changing my production company's name to Paraquay Productions instead of Harry Clay Productions. The bad news is explaining to people who thought they were getting the best of Nintendo, instead getting a CD of The Best of Matt Kendall!!

Comic Relief!

Well I'm exhausted from explaining my thoughts on Death on another blog, so I needed some and spread some cheer, and this showed up in my email! Enjoy!

12 Things You Should Never Say to a Cop

1. I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer. (OK in Texas)

2. Sorry, Officer, I didn't realize my radar detector wasn't plugged in.

3. Aren't you the guy from the Village People?

4 Hey, you must've been doin' about 125 mph to keep up with me. Good job!

5. Are You Andy or Barney?

6. I thought you had to be in relatively good physical condition to be a police officer.

7. You're not gonna check the trunk, are you?

8. I pay your salary!

9. Gee, Officer! That's terrific. The last officer only gave me a warning, too!

10. Do you know why you pulled me over? Okay, just so one of us does.

11. I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there are no other cars around. That's how far ahead of me they are.

12. When the Officer says "Gee Son....Your eyes look red, have you been drinking?" You probably shouldn't respond with,"Gee Officer your eyes look glazed, have you been eating doughnuts?"

Are We Having Fun Yet!

Another Ho-Hum day for the kitties!

We Have a Failure to Communicate!
I'm having a hard time trying to write and think at the same time, so I thought it would be "brilliant" to try and use a speech to text program to help out.
Well this is what came out, and I'll give someone a $20 gift card if they can figure out what I was saying!

Paraguay productions now presents the best of Nintendo now twenty demands are we doing the best job of the man's been fired more times than Billy Martin was with the Yankees the answer is we don't know but we did in the what you get a hearing what other people think about that candle but first of its tell you what I think about Nintendo he's a really nice guy he's really personable he has great guy is all so something else time not really mad use a I've been a good friend for a long time and he's but but the band I've had put up with him and but we've made it through this so now plays into a the best of that can't

So, I'm a little disappointed, I'll either have to try again, or work on that thinking and writing thing!

If I Wasn't So Happy, I'd Be Depressed!

That's was my thought process this morning. The Sun is shining, the new snow is melting, so it helps in finishing off the clean up process. I had a good weekend, football yesterday, more fun with the Magic Bullet(a tomato sauce over pasta, a cheese cake, and a frozen strawberry cocktail(yum)). Saturday was fun, slept in, dug my car out of the snow, did some mall shopping looking for a last minute gift for our Christmas party!(yes, in January), and even the party was fun with the white elephant exchange. The person who ended up with my gift was impressed, and I got the Supremely Satisfying Bathroom Reader Book! So this week I will be spouting trivial quotes!(Like the average adult has 4 dreams a night and 1 nightmare a year!)
So I'm feeling pretty good, but I can't help notice that if I wasn't feeling happy, I would be feeling depressed. Didn't feel like there was any middle ground.
So I was glad to find this article in the funny papers today, that today is the most depressing day of the year, according to a British Psychologist.
Click Here for full story! (All links on Radioaffliction open a new window, so they won't break frames!)

Radioaffliction Update
Stayed tuned, rebroadcasts of the Best of The David Williams Radioaffliction will be available on the blog this week.
Topics that would have been on the DWRA today:
A thank you to Johnny Carson for the years of entertainment. I miss the monologues the most. Usually they were in the so bad they were good category. I'm reminded of Rich Little's impersonation of Carson's monologue and no one was laughing, so he had say "Hey, If these jokes were funny, I wouldn't be doing a good Carson!"
And in Sports, how this is the worst week in Sports having to wait two weeks for the Super Bowl. With the talk and analysis, and more analysis, and predictions, and that's just this week. Then next week, media day, more predictions(remember this just one game!), more analysis, this time to do it properly commentators must show me on a 5 yard mock field in the studio! Then the pre-game starts on Thursday all the way up to kick off finally on Sunday for the which the game could be over by half time, which now takes 45 minutes!

Well that's all I have today, have a Happy Most Depressing Day of the Year, and remember 3 out of every 4 creatures on Earth are insects and New England 27 Philadelphia 13!
Until Next Time,

Commenting Today!
Nothing new for me really to post today, I've been leaving comments on other sites today instead posting. Hard to expect comments on my own blog, if I don't leave some on others!
Here's a link to my favorite of the day(the link goes to a new page so it won't break the frame on B.E. or B.C.), my comment is #18, and the response is #20.

A lot of good exchanges today, maybe it will give me something to write about this weekend, since I'm off and I'm the middle of a snowstorm!
Until then,

In the Funny Papers Today!
After a couple of slow days in the papers, things are picking up, probably with the Inauguration, and how happy a few people are and how unhappy a lot of people are. So what is my top story?
Leinenkugel's is going to stop producting returnable bottles!!!!!
A time honored tradition from the brewery will come to a close by May. That's the bad news. The good news?! BLATZ is still available in returnable bottles, and at just over $10 a case I suggest with a major snow storm on the way, we pick one up and watch the Inauguration on TV!

Creativity in Action!
My faith in the human race is enhanced when I hear/see stories like this.
A farm in Vermont is converting methane gas from cow manure to generate electricity!
That's using the brain! Take something you have plenty of, and put it to good use!
Click Here for the full story.
Only problem is that it is a win for everyone, for the farm, the power plant and the consumer, and that it makes too much sense and no one else in the country will want to do it. But I at least applaud the thought and the effort!

That's all I have for right now, feel free to comment!
Have a great Inauguration Day, Free the CAT (thanks Saint Nate for your comment!)
Until next time,

A Peter's Famous Review in 10 Seconds or Less
Years ago, I swore I would never buy anything from an infomercial ever again, when I got ripped off from the Power Antenna, which was supposed to use the wiring in your house to pull in even the weakest TV signal and make it crystal clear!
Well I was disappointed with that product even though when I bought one I got one free!
But I couldn't resist when I was flipping channels really early one morning, and saw the Magic Bullet! Which can mix, blend, or whip just about anything in 10 seconds or less. I was intrigued, but skeptical especially when they were offering a 2 for 1 deal, but by the third time I saw the infomercial and being bored on New Years Morning, I went to their website and ordered it. It came yesterday, and so far I'm impressed. I made things I never had any intention of making and enjoyed it. I had a pesto dinner, and with the juice part of the blender section, mixed carrots, cucumber, and a beet!!! And LIKED IT!!!!!
So with a major cold streak coming in this weekend, I think I might just head to the store and grab a bunch of stuff, and have a Magic Bullet Weekend!
So just like life, sometimes you try something and it doesn't work out, and sometimes you take a chance, and things can work out.
So the Magic Bullet get's a *** rating.

Follow Up, With a Lime Please
Well at least one person is willing to try the new Lime Coke (Good Luck Michael) when it comes out in the next month! I will try it myself, but I'm a little skeptical, but if the Magic Bullet can work out, maybe Lime Coke will be the new rave!

Happy _______day!!!
Cheers to a Person who helped make Match Game one of the greatest shows of all time!
Charles Nelson Reilly is 74 today!

Happy Birthday Chuck!

Death is Just a Weigh Station in the Highway of Life!

I am really enjoying not only writing blogs for you, but reading others as well. I’m getting perspective and it encourages me to think a little before I rant or ramble on a particular subject, but also encourages me to express myself on a particular subject.

There are two hot topics I run into frequently,
1. Social Security reform. Not much for me to say here, except that anyone who thinks nothing should be done and left the way it is, needs to think about that a little further. It’s nice to know that we(as in a government) have taken out much of the poverty at the retirement age, but many of our children are at or near the poverty level.
2. GOD! This a heavy subject anywhere, but pretty popular with bloggers especially in wake of the Tsunami. I have many thoughts on God and faith, but I’m saving that for another rant or ramble.
The issue at hand with the almighty on this one is Death. It seems to some that the only way one should leave this life and go to the next, is to fall into some easy and peaceful slumber and pass on, obviously that doesn’t always happen.
I don’t understand why we(as humans) question Death, and also I don’t quite understand why we fear it(still ranks tied for #1 fear with speaking in public). Because it’s constant, it happens every day, in many ways to everything. Everything that has lived is dead, and anything alive is going to die! We know this, and yet we continue to question, and even challenge the thought, by saying things like, “How could this happen?”, or “Why would GOD do this?” The unpopular answer is, because it was the time for it to happen.
I hope I’m not sounding harsh, or insensitive so I will try and put a positive spin to this.
It was Admiral James T. Kirk who said to a Lt. after she had a rough going on a simulator test where she wiped out her entire crew. “How we deal with death, is just as important as how we deal with life.” The young Lt. responds with “That thought had not occurred to me.” And the battletested commander correctly replied with, “Well now you have something new to think about!”
One of the things that motivates me, and gives me hope for the universe, and the human race is, what are we going to know, that we don’t know now. 3000 years ago we thought the Sun revolved around the Earth, and that the Gods determined what kind of year or life we are going to have. 600 years ago we(Europe) thought the world was flat, 20 years ago I used an Apple IIc, 10 years ago I used a VCR, 5 years ago I used AOL. Think about what I will know or use, or see tomorrow, next month, next year or in the next five years. So if I take Admiral Kirk’s advice, think about what I’ll know when that time comes to pack it in. That’s just it, I’ll know, what I don’t know now. This is where the fear comes to people because even if you believe in an after life, which is it for me, heaven or hell? If I don't believe you still know! You either say "See I told you so, boy it sure is dark here." or you say "Ooops, hey there God, how is it going?", and you go from there.
So from my perspective if the Tsunami was God’s will, the people who died are in God’s hands. Those who survived, relief is coming from all over the world, including Ricky Martin. If it's not in God's hands then that's just how the Earth works, and the risks you take living on it.

Final thoughts(today, I look forward to your comments) on Death and Life.
There are two shows I enjoy on competing networks on the subject, HBO’s Six Feet Under, and Showtime’s Dead Like Me.
Six Feet is pretty good(***), but has become more of a Soap Opera, about a dysfunctional family that runs a funeral parlor, and how they deal with their dysfunctions(the mother is married to a man who thinks a nuclear holocaust is approaching, one son is widowed the other is homosexual) and live life with death surrounding them.

I enjoy Dead Like Me a little more(***1/2) because is stays more on the subject, and has better character development with it’s supporting cast. The main premise is the story of a teenage girl who didn’t give a crap while she was alive, comes to grips and learns to start embracing life and loving her family now that she's dead and spending her afterlife has a grim reaper. As the second season moved along they’re having a hard time coming up with new ways for people to kick the bucket but like I said the character development is getting better as it goes along. Check them out when you get a chance. They are both available on DVD.

With all that death talk continue to have a great Day!

What I'm enjoying about viewing other blogs, is finding little quizzes, and I found this one. Just in case you were interested in knowing a little more about me.

You Are a Dreaming Soul

Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you awy from this world
So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...
But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult

You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.
Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.
Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

Truth Funnier Than Fiction!
In a bizarre "Where are they Now" segment. If you woke up this morning and thought to yourself, "Hey, what is MC Hammer doing these days?" Well he's marrying people. Specifically former Motley Crue lead Vince Neil. In attendance were, Tommy Lee, Dennis Rodman, and Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick! My invitation was lost in the mail.

Well that's all I have for today,

I have always enjoyed these, and I found this one on another blog. I found 10, but I can't find the last one!

I'll have a Lime Please!
Interesting marketing campaign ahead for Coca-Cola, as they will be putting out a Regular Coke version of Coke w/Lime. Something I might try once, like Vanilla Coke.

eBay is the world's online marketplace where you can buy and sell practically anything! Over 6 Million items, so get shopping! Register and BuyItNow.

That's all I have today, didn't pick up any funny papers today, because I didn't need any reminders that my football season is over!

Did want to thank Amanda and Maria for there nice comments over the weekend!
Until Next Time, Have a great day,

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! Make it a great Weekend!

Ooh, Baby it's a Wild World!
I don't stand up for many causes and I don't like to push my feelings or opinions on people, but if I were to have a cause right now it would be to FREE THE CAT!
Yes that infamous terrorist lurking about Cat Stevens(now Yusef Islam) is still not allowed to enter the United States.
Now trying to figure out the inner workings on the mind of Mr. Islam over the last thirty years would give you a headache, and I don't agree with everything that he stands for, and his music sometimes is an acquired taste(although "Teaser and the Firecat is one of my favorite albums of all time!), but what made Pat Tillman a hero, has made him an outcast, and what the US Government calls a terrorist threat. He gave up the millions of dollars that he made or could have made in the music industry to do what he felt finally gave him a purpose in life. There is a lot to criticize, but I'm not sure there's much that terrorize.

Odd's & End's
Lastly, a shot to my heart, and I'm not sure why I didn't catch it sooner, because I'm rather picky when it comes to such things.
A term that we have embraced here in Wisconsin about Lambeau Field being "The Frozen Tundra". I have seen the light and realize that term is redundant.
Have a wonderful weekend and feel free to comment!
Until next time,

A Peter's Famous Reviews Flashback!
Originally written 5/30/03

With the advent of DVD movies can now be any length, any rating, contain any scenes, because when you actually get time to go out to the theater, a movie must be a certain length, a certain rating, and must only contain relevant scenes that fit into the certain length a movie at a theater must be. But now DVD comes along, and a director can now poo poo on those nasty studio execs who forced them trim down their movie, and can now present the film the way he wanted, and the studio can market it and make just as much money! Everything from Star Wars to Orson Welles, to the Exorcist have come out with new versions, and it should come to no surprise that this movie should fit into this category, since there’s never really been a completed version shown since it premiered. This has been a tough film for everyone, the fans (trekkers and or trekkies), the studio, the actors, and apparently the director. It’s great to have Star Trek back, but it’s slow, and the plot doesn’t make much sense at first sight. It does have great have great special effects, which the original show lacked, but we end up watching a special effects show, with some familiar characters and then hours later it’s over.
So what’s good about this version? Well it’s been almost redone, and re-edited so it actually flows (even with slow scenes, like a five minute fly by of the “new” Enterprise), and most importantly the annoying alarm system (“Intruder Alert!!!!!) has been completely taken out! The viewer is no longer distracted with other things or sounds going, and can actually follow the rather tricky plot.
The new commentaries (which most DVD’s now must always have) also help out, along with a supplemental subtitle!
What’s not so good, is that the movie is fundamentally flawed and no little editing and remixing and remastering is going to change that. The script was intended as a pilot for a new series of Star Trek, and it plays like one. Only the two leads have any character development, The great star ship captain has been promoted, and he doesn’t like his new job, so he has the power to take control back. The other is trying rid himself of those damn dirty emotions his mother gave him, but some outside force keeps stirring them up, so now he must rejoin his old shipmates to find those answers. There are some sub characters that get a little play, like the ousted Captain who had an affair with a Lt. on a planet where you’re not supposed to do that! And the old nurse is now the doctor, but that’s not good enough, you need to bring the old doctor back so he can say “Damn it Jim!”, well that’s not all he says, but he doesn’t add much more than that. That’s it! Everyone else is pretty much irrelevant.
The movie as a whole is an improvement however, and Star Trek fans will enjoy it more, and those who don’t like Star Trek weren’t going to like it in the first place, but if they’ve never seen it before they won’t have to suffer as much if they had seen it earlier.

Happy New Year, Again!!
Hello again, and let me be the 1,000,000th person to wish you all a happy and successful New Year!

The Name Game!
I always wonder what people or companies are thinking when they come up with names for their products or services. I will always remember a local grocery store here in Wisconsin called Dick's, and the name of their in house savings club card was the Insider card. So if you had one, you had a Dick's Insider (INSIDE HER) Card! This provided laughs for years before they finally changed it. But we knew all along that they knew all along!
Now IKEA joins the ranks for our immature pleasures with the Fartfull workbench!

I'm sure it's an English translation of Swedish for "Great" Workbench, and I'm sure it is, but come on, and it's in the Children's section of all places!

FREE Computer Training CD-ROM from Video Professor! The Video Professor has taught millions of people how to use their computers! Try a complete lesson FREE!

Testing 1,2,3!
Another thing I found interesting looking around the funny papers today, was a Consumer Reports test on Condoms! Now, I'm really not into such things, but I found it interesting the condom with the worst rating or review are the ones being given out by Planned Parenthood!

Makes you wonder about the ones they give out at those clinics as well, NOT THAT I'VE SEEN SUCH THINGS!!!!!!

That's all for now, anyone who wants to help shovel snow, just come on over!

Happy Friday!

Hope your weather is as nice as it is here right now in Southern Wisconsin! I have to admit the one thing I missed when I was in Colorado was autumn. But then November will come and I'll wish I was back there again!!

On a Personal note, home life is a little nicer with the addition of a couch and a new desk. Seems more like a dwelling now, than just a place to crash for the night.
Also I discovered that I have a little puppy instead of a kitty, when I caught my little fur ball drinking out of the toilet this morning, and then she looked at me as if she was saying "What?!?".

Enough Already!
Depending on how frequent I actually write posts I think every now and then I will have to rant on a certain sports network. I don't want to mention any names because that would not be discreet but their intials are E S P N.
Both Sportscenter and their radio programs have been on the NFL's case on the handling of former player Pat Tillman, who left the NFL and joined the Army Rangers and was killed in Afghanistan earlier this year. I thought the NFL did a nice job of honoring Tillman at all stadiums in week two of the season with a moment of silence and all teams having a #40(his#) sticker on all helmets(his old team Arizona Cardinals will have the sticker all season). But that's not enough for ESPN, they have gone as far as to say the whole NFL season should be dedicated to him, or the 40 yard line on all fields should be a memorial, this from the network that has already televised his memorial, and when his flag draped coffin arrived home. My view on that is, if you do that for one fallen soldier, you HAVE to for everyone. Pat Tillman is not the only soldier who has died in this war, not the only to give up a career to do something he felt compelled to do, and I hope I'm not coming across as un-American when I say this, he is no more or less heroic for his sacrifice just because he once played in the NFL. One day they will make a memorial for the Gulf War, and all the names on there will be the same size, and should all be honored the same.
The problem that has arose is a former teamate Jake Plummer of the Denver Broncos wanted to keep the #40 sticker on his helmet. The NFL said no and if he did he would be fined. At first that seems kind of cruel, but the honoring as been done, and it's time to move on, which Plummer has agreed to do, and has said he will honor Tillman in other ways. I applaud Plummer for that, and it's time for ESPN to move on as well.
That's all I have for today, have a wonderful day,

Hello, and Happy Monday!

Not much going on today, just a couple things that caught my eye in the funny papers today.

Blast From the Past
This was on the bottom corner of the one of pages in the local paper here this morning, but I found it interesting with all the hurricanes in Florida this season, and now over the weekend over 10 earthquakes ranging from 2.0 to 2.8 at Mount St. Helens has prompted an alert status at the volcano. Now I'm not suggesting an apocalypse, just seems weird that's all, and to find it buried in the headlines. Since the weather channel had reporters at beaches saying "look at the rain!". Seemed like a volcano ready to explode, would be some reporters big chance. FULL STORY

I'm trying to stay away from corny things like "Link of the Week", but I really am having a good time with this site Internet Archve. They have a whole bunch of public domain movies, music, and education programs. The Feature Film section has a ton of old movies that you can stream or download. Most of them are in the "so bad" their good category, but you come across a gem every now and then. My favorite so far is Love Island with a young Eva Gabor. I laughed real hard throughout this one. My buddies and I could make a better picture.
Like I said, they're not all bad and the #1 download in that category is the old animated Gulliver's Travels! So check it out, and if anyone knows of other sites like this please let me know at the radioaffliction Tell Us What You Think! page.
Well that's all I have for today, enjoy your Monday

Good Morning!
And Happy Saturday to you. The weekend is here, and I'm back in my office for what should be another busy yet productive day.

Question of the Day?
It's Yom Kippur! For those of us who are not Jewish, can we use this day has a holy day? Besides fasting for 25 hours after sunset yesterday, in what other ways can we participate? Just asking because I'm sure that Jewish people in some form participate in at least one Christmas activity, not neccesarily because they want to, but because the "so called" Christians stuff it in their face. Even if they don't want to acknowledge it by saying "Merry Christmas", you still are, even by saying "Happy Holiday's!", because which Holiday are you referring to, and when do you ever use such a phrase?(You don't say Happy Holiday's on Presidents Day do you!)
Well anyway, however you celebrate or worship Yom Kippur, enjoy the releasing of your sins. I have to admit that 25 hours straight is better than 1 day a week for 8 weeks(or however long Lent is)!

Moving on, one of the big deals this week in Madison was the standing in lines at the Kohl Center for the seating arrangements for Hockey tickets. Yes that's right folks, nearly camping out, standing in line for hours and hours for tickets they already had, just to find out where they're going to sit. For Hockey. COLLEGE HOCKEY!
Granted that maybe the only hockey there is this year, but doesn't the laundry need to be done, or I don't know maybe CLASS!!

WEEKEND SPORTS!
What would the weekend be without sports, and one of the ways I prepare for my Sunday football, is looking at the Friday USA TODAY and going over the football previews and seeing what games get which announcers. This is very important, almost as important as the game itself. Now in my case for the Packers game, we will have the #1 team from FOX of Joe Buck, Chris Collinsworth, and Troy Aikman. The importance of this is, this should be a game between two good teams, The Packers and the Colts. However if things happen to go wrong in my case, at least there is good announcers to enjoy. Having a bad game and bad announcers is like a double whammy, unless you know ahead of time the game is going to be bad(another reason why I look at the previews). The point I'm really trying to get at here, is that the announcers should fit the matchup. In this example FOX did a good job.
CBS is been having a tougher time with their #1 crew of Jim Nantz,Phil Simms and Bonnie Bernstein(Please Marry Me). Last week they had the Cleveland Browns at the Dallas Cowboys. Not saying these are bad teams, it's just not a marquee match up for a talented crew, and quite frankly it was a horrible game. This week the #1 crew gets those same Browns again at the New York Giants!?! So I'm left to ask why this is the #1 game of the week for CBS!!!!!!
I went through my little preview on the USA TODAY and found four games that were better match ups and better for the sanity of poor Mr.Nantz, Simms and Ms. Bernstein(meet me in Vegas). Even the match up of (0-2)Houston and (0-2)Kansas City is better, San Diego at Denver, Baltimore at Cincinnati(although this is almost even with Browns/Giants) and HELLO Jacksonville (2-0) at Tennessee (1-1)!!!!! A division rival and possible playoff match up. So by CBS thinking, the Browns/Giants is a possible Super Bowl match up???????
Well those are my thoughts for today, if you are celebrating Yom Kippur, hang in there you almost done.
Until next time,
PAC

Hello, I'm putting this back up again. I apologize for not updating this in almost a year, but thanks to those who have checked it out in the past.

So I will try at least to do one daily blog.
Today I'm feeling a little under the weather, but forging ahead anyway.
One thing that I found interesting today while I was paying one of my bills, and I caught it right at the last second, it said please mail payment 7 days prior to due date. Well why isn't that the due date then!

Well if you are a sports fan, this is one of the big weekends(aside from Super Bowl Weekend) with the start of the NCAA Basketball tournament. Every year when this starts, and everyone talks, and fills in their brackets. I keep thinking how much we're missing the boat, and how huge a college football tournament would be!

I had a rather fun experience around the house yesterday, cleaning my carpets! I borrowed one of these Little Green Machines. It's meant has a spot cleaner, but I was having so much fun, I walked around saying "Hey, that needs cleaning!"

Oh well that's the report for now,
Have a great day,
