Why would anybody in their right mind want to eat raw meat? This guy has the appetite of a wild beast. He needs help - serious help.
Jim needs a lot of help, but mostly in areas that would lead to other discussions!
The recipe comes from our Grandfather which came from his elders from Prussia. I guess it's just easier than taking the time to cook it!
I'm all for steak tar tar, but I always thought that uncooked ground beef was risky to eat. This video makes me think of Eric Schlosser's "Fast Food Nation." One chapter is entitled "What's in the Beef?" The answer: shit.
Hey whats wrong with Raw Beef and Onions. It must be a Wis"cow"son thing. Hell Yea I'm a Cheesehead also. Peter I am just down the road in Dodge Co.
Hubby eats it every time there is a Packer game on.
We were in Minn. and hubby wanted raw beef and I went to the store and asked where do they have there ground round? They looked at me like I was nuts. The guy said isn't hambuger all the same?
I thought what a real MORON.
Bozette, I agree with you. Jim was hell bent with this idea, and the butcher that we went to was real helpful. However my brother says that Jim did not follow the recipe all the way through, because he feels the key ingredient is Lawry's Seasoned Salt!
Too much butter! Tell him he needs to cut back!!!
I will let him know, I think he got carried away because it was "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" and therefore "Better" for you!
I think it would taste better with thinly sliced onions and on coctail rye
Here we are over 3 years later and I'm still alive. I think I've had a raw beef sandwich on every one of my trips back to Madison and this past November, I know I ate at least 3 of them.
The last anonymous poster is correct: the sandwich does taste much better with thinly sliced onion on top. A cold PBR would've been good, too, but we were on a budget, so we went with Blatz. We'll try to include those things in the sequel.

funny that i'm stumbling on this post 5 years after it was put up, but i wanted to join the conversation. My family has raw beef and onion on rye every Christmas! I don't usually eat as much of it as Jim did in the video, but it is delicious! I usually only sprinkle it with salt, but i may try butter on it this year!!
I ate raw ground beef and onions on rye bread, with Lawry's and black pepper, for twenty years. Only got sick once.
You should try it with a hard roll.
