Girl Struck by Lightning Twice While in Shower(Duh)!

I am going to sound a tad insensitive, but since nobody died in this story here it goes.

As you read the through the story you will find that the young girl who struck by lightning(twice) almost deserved it.

NEWSFLASH!!: Don't take a shower during a THUNDERSTORM!

Amplify’d from www.thelocal.se
Swedish girl zapped by lightning twice

A 12-year-old girl in Gothenburg was struck by lightning twice while taking a shower during a thunderstorm on Wednesday evening.

After dinner 12-year-old Alice went downstairs in the basement to take a shower when her parents heard her scream.

Seconds prior to the child’s outburst two loud claps of thunder had suddenly cracked outside and the rain began to pour.

Alice had been struck by lightning in the arm but her parents did not immediately understand what had happened.

The child’s mother, Cecilia Svensson, immediately went downstairs and began to help wash her daughter’s hair when Alice screamed for the second timed.

“She screamed again. She was holding the metal shower hose while rinsing off,” Svensson, who at this point still did not understand what was happening, told local newspaper Göteborgstidningen (GT).

Scientists Find it Difficult to Predict Volcano Behavior!

I am all for research and Volcanoes are important to the structure of the Earth, but with all the history and all the research, when a volcanologist is asked maybe not a simple question but a very important question like "When will this end?" or "When will this happen again?"
The answer should be a little better than "I don't know!"

At least when a physicist doesn't know an answer(and they usually don't) they at least have the courtesy to make one up and make it sound scientific.

I heard Tony's comments on his radio show and I saw Hannah's outfit. I am not sure I want to be in a society in which somebody can't say somebody is wearing a bad outfit.

Am I the only one that enjoys Prime Ministers Question Time on C-SPAN from the U.K.?
Why wouldn't it work here? It would actually show Americans that the Government is working(on something) and I think it would prove once and for all who really cares and who the real idiots are, and maybe that is what they are afraid of(because it might be the President and it might not)!

Here is a link to the Presidents Q&A with House Republicans from C-SPAN and The Videoaffliction!

Elin Nordegren crashes at Brett Favre's ranch while visiting Tiger Woods at sex rehab clinic: report

Are you kidding me? Is this a real report? You are honestly telling me there were no rooms at the local Holiday Inn? The only place available is to stay at Brett Favre's ranch!
This begs the question, will Brett Favre retire?

France is Accusing the U.S. of Occupying Haiti!

The Night Canopy: Hard to believe

Nice article and in my opinion if France wants it back they can have it. In that case they better drop the Croissants and get over there and help out, otherwise put a lid on it(which is a nice way of saying "Shut UP").

Dodd Retirement May Help Banking Bill?

Analysis: Dodd Retirement May Help Banking Bill - ABC News

I love the first line of this article
Freed from his liberal base and moneyed donors, Sen. Chris Dodd can now cast himself as the honest broker in negotiations over a massive Wall Street regulation bill.

This is an interesting analysis for ABC News Jim Kuhnhenn, but I can't help but snicker when I read this. That somehow honesty and integrity can only occur when you are without a base or donor or therefore an agenda.

My guess is that a politician can leave politics, but the politics doesn't leave the Politician.

Just like the previous post, the picture says it all.

Wow I don't know what to say about this story. It seems that South Africa has come so far in a short time, but looks like it still has a ways to go.
Here is the Wikipedia article on this clown. Apparently Polygamy is the least of his vices.
At least they have the World Cup this summer.

I may be wrong. But maybe we have enough on our plates right now. In this case maybe we should let Iran take care of Iran and the problem might fix itself. Follow Iran on Twitter and you decide.
Maybe Sen. Kerry should worry more about the Heinz trust fund.

Death is Still the Leading Cause of Death!

Swine flu has hit! Everyone stay in your homes, don't go to work or school or do anything, don't even breath.
150 people in Mexico, mainly Mexico City have died due to the flu and the time to panic is now!
Wait a minute! My Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy still says "Don't Panic" on the cover.

At last check Mexico City had almost 9 million people living there, do I really have to explain the ratio of people who have died or even suffering from swine flu to the whole swarm of people still living, and didn't we just go through all this with Peanut Butter and Tomatoes.

Yes flu is serious, and I don't intentionally take people suffering or dieing for granted, but the fact of the matter is people die. Everyday so far, and more will today. Some from swine flu, some from another form of flu, others from traffic accidents, electricity and I think there is still at least couple of wars out there, and I'll bet some where in the world a circus clown was trampled by an elephant.

I know it's the job of Local or National newscasts to find a way to make you crap your pants, but the numbers suggest that you will make it through the day okay. In fact I read a book(I'll find it and mention it on the next Radioaffliction podcast)that stated you have a better chance of winning the lottery than being killed by a terrorist. I read another book that stated you have a better chance of being killed by a terrorist than getting married after 40(joke).

So there you have it. You are going to live. Until you don't and then you won't have anything to worry about. You will be another statistic for something and a bunch of people will send their thoughts and prayers to your family.

Enjoy your day!
