Well, it's a happy Saturday today. I was going to get my Colorado driver's license today, but they were closed. I thought everything was open on weekends these days! But it wasn't a complete wasted trip, I was able to get the recycling out, and some food for our cats. I was working on the computer this morning, finishing up some reviews for the website (radioaffliction.com)(another plug), one was for an old Poco album (From the Inside), when I realized what one of my favorite albums of all time is.
Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass: What Now My Love?
I like it because I think it's one of his most upbeat albums, and makes me do funny dances around the house, with songs like "Magic Trumpet" or "Freckles" and my personal favorite "Brasilia" which may rank as one of the greatest songs of all time(the greatest is still ABBA's "Dancing Queen"). Some of Alpert's albums were more mood music to get "In The Mood" if you know what I mean, but this album just gets you kickin, even with his version of "If I Were a Rich Man". I do have a problem with one of the songs, "Five Minutes More". It's a good song but how can it be five minutes more, when it's only 1:53????
Well that's the report for now,
take care
